I Have A 2011 SS/RS Verb. I Hooked The Wires In The Drivers Kick Wall Area To The Yellow Wire(ABL) Run Over To The Console Area Conected The Ground Lug. Then tied In To The Footwell Lights Then Tee Both Ground And Postive Wires Into The Cupholder Lights. They Work When The Doors Open And Come One With The ABL At Night Too. Works Fine! The 2O11 Cars Do Not Have The Purple wire Shown In Picks Of The Early Model Cars. Nice Mod!!

Where is the light coming from in front of the shifter?
Keep in mind the front tray light is on the dome light curcuit with the footwells.

The Traction control switch is a good spot for the yellow/black IP lighting. If you want the feature lighting, you'll want to go under the passenger kick panel, and tap the purple wire there.

What does the purple wire go to? Is it available in the 1LT??
