Love the grill and the 65!

My first car was a 65 442. Loved that car. Someone rear ended it and it was totaled. :(.

I‘ve been looking at doing this on the wife's car, and being able to do it at a fraction of the cost is definitely a big plus. Question... how did you form the mess to the contours of the origonal. I have thought about using the piece I cut out and using it to press the form.

It does look good. However definitely needs the lower done to match. Otherwise looks off IMO

You don't have to worry about matching the contours. Just a single bend in the center, then attach working from the center out. I'm working on the lower now. I'd post a little more detail, but I have a VERY small side business doing custom automotive work, and have been burned by giving away too much in a forum setting.

Well let us know if you ever decide to do a few sets. I will gladly buy.

My source for the powdercoated mesh sells the panels for $5 each, and it is long enough for the lower SS grille and tall enough for the upper, so two panels is $10, with another 10 for shipping. I am considering doing a few sets after Xmas. I will have an extra lower grille after I do mine, and if someone sent me their heritage grille I might do it that way.
