May have outrun the cops in my LT Camaro.

So Im on my way home from work at 2:30 in the morning in my new Camaro. Its a small town where I work and I drove down main street and didnt see anybody around. Just for fun I punched the gas and spun the tires a little while turning onto the street going out of town, which happens to be down the street from the cop station. a minute later I looked in my rearview and saw lights behind me aways slowly catching up so I sped up abit. The highway has alot of curves for aways so I didnt see them for abit anymore, then as I turned onto another highway that had no curves, there was no one behind me that I could see. a minute later I see bright lights from behind again. At this point I was doing about 160-170 km/h and they seemed to be gaining on me from aways back. Nobody else was on the highway at this time so I got on the middle of the highway and floored it. Got her up to the mid 230's and i was starting to pull away fairly fast. then I came to a double curve in the highway and slowed down to around 150 or so, man does the Camaro handle well, I gotta say. Then just after the curve, punched it again, then turned off on a side gravel road that goes to my place before they made the curves and never saw them again. I dunno if it was a cop or just some other speeder out at 3 in the morning but It was fun anyway, lol.

By the way, does anyone know if its safe to run the car at its max speed with only 2000 km on it? Is that enough to be broken in enough to push the car to its limits without hurting it?

Guess it's because of people like this that new drivers are charged a rediculous amount on insurance. Hope you get caught one day doing 50 over or more.

For people who might not know about this

Our nice Canadian law now is that if your 50 over the speed limit its instant car impounded, loss of licence, $10,000 fine and you have to wait 20 days to get your car back paying 200 a day for impound fees

submitted to the Darwin Awards for their perusal...

did you really think we would say "AWESOME!!" to this?

I only hope that none of the Camaro owning cops on here see this...I'm afraid of what this thread would turn in to.

The only time I "out ran" the cops, I was speeding a little 130km/h in 100 km/h zone. He was coming the other way, he hit the lights and came across the grass median. Well it was April and the ground was soft, I could see the mud flying as he got stuck in the mud. Well I did not stop to see if he needed a push. I slowed down and took the next exit and found a back way home.

Later than week I saw the cruiser again, instead of pulling me over he just shook his fist at me.

Oops.
