i think there are going to be a lot of butthurt camaro owners when they pull along side a new GT thinking they are going to smoke one. Don't know too many around here that stay stock for long. It just takes less similiar mods to go faster strickly due to the weight and gearing advantage of the GT

There is a lot of obsession with beating the Camaro around here. The way I figure it, you have two choices. Does that Camaro have more hp than me or not? Well do you feel lucky? Well do ya punk? I love that line from Dirty Harry.

I addressed weight indirectly in my comment that power-to-weight was similar. This is especially true if you use average power in each gear, given that in stock tune, the Mustang cannot make as efficient use of its power as the Camaro can, for one reason: Redline is 6600 and the rev limiter begins to kick in at 6850.

Gearing is more than just rear gears, and it is the tranny that provides the benefit in this case. The Mustang will get through 4 gears in the 1/4 mile (3.31, 3.55, or 3.73), giving it the advantage of more torque multiplication at the wheel through the entire run, helping all the way down the track. Hence my comment.

With slicks (to take even better use of the gearing) and a tune (to both add power and increase the redline), things get interesting in a hurry.

Why must the ford lovers come here? If you love the mustang so much, take it to one of their sites.
Crap gets way old.

Competition makes all brands and makes grow stronger.

Also, this is the "Camaro vs...." section, if you dont like it..GTFO of this board.

Same goes for General Automotive, if you dont want to read about Mustangs..stay the hell out of there too.

Otherwise please, some of us are trying to have a normal conversation without someone having to come in and pick a fight out of some retarded sense of territory.

lol , no a friend of friend bought a 2011 5.0 and we went out to the track tonight. He only got two runs in before rain hit but the 13.24 was the best. His car has the base 331 gears.

13.24 thats not too bad considering its just a random mid-summers day run!that still cracks the top 20 on the fastest list here

Im sure for the weather he ran in , if its in Ohio you could take a few tenths off of that with better conditions.
