Dynoed the LS3 today
Bone stock on 93 super , spiked with nos octane booster .
Made 391.5 ft lb and 378.7 hp . Jumped to 405.5 ft lb and 393.2 hp with the air filter lid disconnected from lower housing . Now that I've got a baseline the mods can commence .

It was 378 hp , that is 370s . The open air cleaner housing picked up about 15 horse bringing it to about 394 hp . The octane booster was added to a full tank of 93 super .

Unless you race on your Brembos a dynapack is less realistic and gives higher numbers than any other dyno. Sure his car shows more power but it will go just as fast as everyone else's.

What he is saying is that there is less error in the reading. It reads a bit higher but this type of dyno will typically result in less error from run to run than a traditional chassis dyno reading directly off the tire.

The numbers he has are higher ONLY because of the removal of the losses in the tires. As there is NO error due to tire temp, size or pressure the results remain consistant. This does not make his car any more powerfull (as it looks he is just above average for results I have seen on Camaro) just means he has a good base line to start mods from and when he returns to the same dyno, under the same conditions, he will get acurate comparisons. always best to understand the science first |
