So it's been awhile, Mina and I haven't been up to much really. We let loose on the weekends and visit our friends at the car show but lately we've had some bad luck :(
A month ago I was saying goodbye to my seniors, wishing them the best for their future plans. Beforehand, I had parked Mina in the back of the parking lot, on a corner spot where I believed no one would mistakenly touch her...boy I was wrong. While the IBM hides things relatively well, poor Mina has an indent in her front bumper now where someone backed into her with only God knows what. Sucks, but really not much I can do about it. Then last week, I came home late from a guy's night. Parked in my driveway around 3 AM, and when I came out the next morning to go play airsoft...I discovered someone egged the back of my car! Ya know, it's one thing when a driver messes up their own car, but when your car is damaged at someone else's hands...it's pretty infuriating. We've had non-stop rain here in Jacksonville, so I'm hoping I can buff her blemish out tomorrow, spend some time relaxing and detailing, but just wanted to catch up with the community I also picked up a summer job at a dealership, PDIin' cars and detailing them. Got to see a lot of happy customers pick up their own Camaros this summer And of course I passed the word on about Camaro5.com! I love pointing into the employee lot and pointing out my own pride and joy And another perk? I got to do the PDIs for the new cop cars, the Chevy Caprice (basically a G8 with a bowtie) Took a few pictures for you guys...

It's interesting, it has a 6.0 l v8 but sounds like a 4 cyl! It's really quick, tight handling, we have a lot of interest from highway patrols so if you're in south FL, I'd keep an eye out lol

So Mina just hit 13,000 miles today
And while she still feels like a rocket I can't help but to wonder what it'd be like if she were a wee bit faster lol... So if anyone wants to chime in, I've talked to a buddy of mine about headers and he showed me what OBX costs and how they're still perfect on his car. I was wondering who else has the OBX LT headers and if you happen to drive yours daily like mine, if you've had any problems or complaints? I'd appreciate any and all feedback! And on another note, I *might* be looking at cam options as well...I've talked to Texas Speed and Jake about a good option but I was wondering as far as daily drivers go, if getting a cam is even worth it? The AFM 1 cam TSP offers would only bring me up 20-30 hp and I'm wondering if that's worth the money...I wonder what a more aggressive cam would feel like and do to my gas mileage. (Sadly that's still a factor) Anyway, if you can give your two cents, please do! Thanks again guys for being such an awesome community and just so you know... I"LL SEE YOU AT CAMAROFEST III !!! (Not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited)

So I've heard a lot about plasti-dip. And of course to better take advantage of my mod fever, it comes in white
Needless to say I bought two cans and went at it this weekend. I should have waited until the next day instead of racing the sun, but I painted my passenger side fender as you can see below (sorry for the blurry pictures, I definitely did not beat the sun lol). First off, plasti-dip does peel right off the car. Even overspray. Of course that takes a little more work to get off, but a little elbow grease and I cleaned it up fine. My suggestion to any looking to try this out, is to remember that YES, you do have to peel off the tape ASAP when you finish your last coat. If you don't, it will pull it right up. Also, try to start small. My stripe going down the side looked cool, but it also made me rush since I didn't want the paint to dry to the tape. I did white because of my color scheme, but if you try it too on a dark car just remember it will take several passes to completely cover the car's color. Impressions? I love this stuff. I'm one of those modders that ALWAYS screws up. Even the basic stuff. So, the ability to peel off the mess I made and try it again is a life-saver. I think in the end what I'll do is probably spray a few more times and make a final decision, and then when I have the funds get it painted on the right way Happy modding! By the way, plasti-dip in black is about $5.85 in FL at Home Depot and Lowe's. I had to order white online through Summit Racing for about $8 a can. Cheap and fun

Installed my painted XM antenna from Lupe at River City Creations and Lighting
Lupe did amazing work and was in contact with me on a constant basis to make sure it met my approval. Check him out if you're in the market for this mod And if you're worried about the install, GTAHVIT has a great video on youtube and this forum on how to do it without taking out the whole headliner. It seemed daunting at first but once I got going it was very easy. My only advice is have a buddy shine a flashlight for you so you can see what you're doing. Oh, and DEFINITELY wear long sleeves and gloves unless you want to itch from the fiberglass. Happy modding! -Jared

I appreciate that! I've changed my mind a few times on what kind of accents I want, it's good to see that people still find them tasteful Oh, and I love your pinstriping! It really shows well on your ABM.
