1st Gen Side Mirror Queston
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on adding a side mirror to the passenger side of a 1st gen camaro. I have one already on there but it is such a pain to angle it right and when I have a passenger it becomes almost impossible to actually see on that side. Any suggestions, tips or tricks?

Is it in the original position? From what I understand, the right side is placed differently than the left. I believe it is back further.?.? It was done to avoid adjustment difficulties.
Regardless, I don't see why an "original" mirror wouldn't work...

I didn't have a passenger side mirror for a while, hardly use the one I put on there. The original spot should have worked, is yours loose?

I put one on my passenger side(1968) it is essential here as we drive on the other side of the road, it works fine.
I did mount it the same distance back as the drivers side. |

I assume the OP is talking about his '67? With the vent window, I think you are limited to how far forward you can move your mirror, without the frame blocking it.
Don't feel bad. I have to lowere the seat so far in my '11, that all I see in my side mirrors are my quarter panels

May be a little late on this one.
I have a 68 Camaro, 67 and early 68s the right mirror was not on option had to be added by the owner. Difference being 67 round mirrors no right mirror, installed behind vent window and 68-69 rectangle both side mirrors installed at forward corner of windows. http://www.camaros.net has lots of good information on first gen Camaros I have seen some first gen camaros using 70's Camaro mirrors they have a bigger mirror, do a yahoo image search "67 camaro right side mirror" I came up with several pictures. you could go crazy and go Japan style and place them on the front fenders. Good luck |

I actually like the look of the mirrors on the hood. But thank you all for the feedback! My main question was is there a way to position the right side mirror in a way so that I can be visible without having to squat all the way back in the drivers seat

My Skyline in Japan had hood mirrors, they work great for passing at high speeds in traffic, even if they look stange. good luck |

I have the rectangles now and they are okay.
I have a high respect for Japanese Cars so the style isn't anything too wild any more. What year was your skyline? |
