I think it is about 13 miles (21 km). I think the Martinrea address is 650 Finley Ave, Ajax.

Only 31 days until the Oshawa Assembly plant opens its doors and the Ontario Camaro Nationals Show is underway!

A couple of thoughts and announcements:

First - the one thing that sets this event apart from every other Camaro/Firebird show in the world -- is the Plant Tour.
When we started planning for this event, we wanted to do everything possible to ensure that every Camaro and Firebird Enthusiast would have the opportunity to watch as new Camaros "roar to life." Since then, we've made several changes and I'm pleased to announce that with the cooperation of the Oshawa Assembly Plant, the CAW and GM Canada Retirees, we will now offer a tour that allows you to walk through the assembly floor at your own pace rather than in tour-lead groups of 15-25 people. GM People will be spaced every 25 feet or to safely guide your through the tour route and help answer your questions about the Camaro build process. Further, we've made provisions for wheelchair access. This ensures that every enthusiast gets to experience the build process and witness many of the operations and procedures that go into building your new Camaro. This now means that the capacity for the tour has increased substantially, and will allow others within the local community as well as the supplier community to see these exciting operations. Therefore, we invite you to consider taking the tour between 9 and 11:30 in the morning as these will be exclusive to Camaro/Firebird owners.

One thing that the Camaro Team learned many years ago (when it comes to Camaro/Firebird Shows) is that it is frustrating to many enthusiasts to be put in a position of having to choose "either activity 'A' or activity 'B'..." - and we just noted that the BBOMG group has inadvertently scheduled a Plant Tour thru Martinrea on Saturday morning. That would mean that enthusiasts travelling long distances would have to choose either the plant tour OR the GM Presentations, the SLP Auction, the Celebrity Pick Awards, etc. Thus, we are working with the management of Martinrea to reschedule that tour to later in the afternoon of Saturday so that no one has to miss an event!

I'll be posting more information in the next couple of days - so be watching!
Well not to be rude or anything IMO the Camaro presentation & announcement can wait until after lunch...It would be easier to move that instead of a 3 Hour tour...IMO.... I think it would be to our disadvantage to move the Martinrea tour in the afternoon cause we would miss out on more at the OCC...Autographs..etc. The Martinrea Tour is quite good and it's our yearly thing with the great employees of Martinrea...as is the GM Employees to whom this is what the BBOMG stands for...
Unfortunately some of us will miss out on some things but overall we will have a great time together.

What day are you starting your trip? I'm leaving Thursday and wouldn't mind caravaning with you all again. Lets just watch those construction barrels and keep the speed a bit under 104 kph in the construction zone

well stated Rick. Things should stay as scheduled! Both events are for the enthusiasts and plant workers, Hylton and Scott (CanadianCamaro) always keep that #1 priority.

If you want to get in on this ADASDF fundraiser, now is the time to do it.

We are close to the 500, and no matter goal met or not, raffle ends this month!

Your donations are 100% tax deductible, your helping Wounded Warriors get free working service dogs ........ a WIN WIN

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130753

Also, you have until end of the month to send Becky @ Rodgers Chevrolet 5 or more cellphones for the "Cellphone for Soldiers" program for your FREE entry into this raffle.....

Just so we are clear about the "FREE ENTRY" If you send in more than 5 cellphones, I , Kelly Fromm will be personally donating the $30 dollar amount...

Because of people sending in CELLPHONE FOR SOLIDERS to Becky for the FREE ENTRY fo this FUNRAISER, most likely to draw the WINNERS at the BBMOG...... (cause have to wait for the senders phones to arrive for accurate count)

If I remember it was a white Buick that hit the construction barrel! haha

We are leaving Thursday afternoon. Planning on leaving from near the airport Thursday around 1:15 pm when the Texans land. Should put us in your neck of the woods around 2:30 I am guessing. I am CONTEMPLATING leaving GR a little earlier because we will be making a stop or two before Sarnia (to meet up with others) and that would give the Vibe time to catch up to us...then we can all roll into Oshawa together from there!!

We would LOVE to have you join us! (My sister lives in Allendale)
We usually meet at the Meijer out near the airport, just off 96.

Thanks in advance for all the hard work put in by soooo many people!! As disappointed as I was for missing last year, I'm so incredibly psyched for this year's event. It seems as each day gets closer, the list of events gets even better!! I better take alot of pics because from what I hear memories can become very cloudy after hanging with our brothers and sisters to the north!
