My car is still in the body shop that is far enough away from the shore that it should be out of harms way.. my rental car could float away for all I care hehehe.

Well, my plan to have lots of cold beer with friends/neighbors has gone down the drain.
My shift just got called in to work 10pm on Sat til 10 am on Sun morning mandatory. Wish me luck... at least the $$$ may help the mod budget... if the car doesn't float away.

Here are a few tips from someone that has played Hurricane for years
1. cars in garages make sure nothing can shake off a shelf and fall 2. Fill the tank as if the power is out you will not be able to get gas 3. Load freezer with bottles of frozen water in individual bottles as this keep sstuff cold and if/when you have to switch to cooler you have ice~ 4. Trees do go down during tropical storms ..even if you are not neaR THE COAST I GUARANTEE RAIN AND WIND IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH AND MANY OF THESE TREES ARE 100% FULL OF FOLIAGE AND WILL BE TOP HEAVY Sorry to be so negative but I was in New Orleans for Katrina and Houston for Ike and have lots of hurricane experience my Video after Katrina is here Please have your head straight as this is a real issue even if you are 100 miles from the coast!!!!

Parked outside, under a few big trees. Safe right?
I have no other choice.

Having been through Katrina, I will tell you this:
Get away; get very far away. I don't want to find any of you missing from here Monday. Stay safe. It's only stuff. |

How did everyone make out??? Everyone OK?
I am in North Western Vermont, and only had heavy rain and some wind, but no damage in my area. Southern and Eastern Vermont did not make out so good. Saw a report that over 300 roads in Vermont are closed due to flooding or being washed out!! Hope everyone else came out of this OK!!

The hurricane turned out to be a big letdown. Here in Cleveland Ohio we just got a few sprinkles.

Monday night - still without power. Might not get it back 'til Saturday. Power company says 95% of the houses should have power back by Friday; the other 5% will get it Saturday. I live on a dirt road, just past the "End State Maintenance" sign. Guess where on the totem pole I am.
