Love the show I thing he is a great host. sooner or later they have to move one of them out to try and get younger and transition to a new crew to keep the show going. If not how long can this show last its a car variety show sooner or latter needs new host like the late shows do.

I don't think any of you listened to the explanation. Using offensive vocabulary in an "eenie-meenie-minie-moe" capacity is hardly offensive by any definition, and he muttered in an effort not to say the word, then realizing this asked for another take. This was never aired.

In all, this whole charade is bull excrement of the highest refinement.

I feel like he thinks he is superior to all people in a sort of comical way and doesn't realize he can be offensive. As a half black person I still love him and do not really get too much a racist vibe from him. I feel like he treats all people the same. He definitely messed up though and needs to stop with this crap. He is plenty funny without all the racist tinge.
Funny thing is, if he did get fired he would just go and make his own show. Tons of people would follow and watch and there are surely companies that would jump right on that.

He's an arrogant prick, lol, but that's a part of his charm. I agree 100%, he's an equal-opportunity prick and not specifically a racist.

The trouble here is, I think, that as an arrogant prick, people secretly or not-so secretly want him to get raked over some coals., since he says snide things so often.

In other words: "you live by the sword, you die by the sword". If he wasn't such a general all around arrogant prick, people would be like "stupid Clarkson, wise up". Instead, they are sticking it to him. Right wrong or otherwise, he baked the cake he's eating.

Wow. I finally got to hear what all the uproar is about. Really? REALLY???? Lordy, the more I read the press, the more I fear for our children's future.

He was comparing two cars, and said:

"Eenie meanie miney moe, catch a (unintelligible mumble) by the toe ..."

Uh, PRESS DUDES? This a children's chant from over a hundred years, maybe hundreds. It dates back to when n`gger was the politically correct noun for Africans. It's like saying "gay" means homosexual in a 16th century play.

Most of us, black, white, blue, green, learned this chant as kids many years ago.

So let's throw people to the wolves for:

"Ring around the rosies, pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall down!"

This is from the medieval times.

Ring around the rosies - Describes the puss filled blister.
Pocket full of posies - The stench of death was so strong everywhere, that people carried flowers with them to avoid puking.
Ashes, ashes - there were so many corpses, there were constant bonfires (bone fires, huge fires to torch the corpses) raining ash everywhere.
We all fall down - We are all going to die.

This was due to White Europeans terrible sanitary practices, which caused the Black Plague.

How freakin' offensive to white Europeans??? You are SO filthy that everyone is dying from your poor hygiene.
