In For Repairs
Well, had the car about 3 weeks and some/most of the electrical systems are going haywire. Warnings about Power Steering and Stabilitrak are flashing and "bonging". Back Up Camera is also not clear at all.. Static/Grainy. Not sure what problem is... service department looking into it. Not sure if anyone else had this problem... just wanted to keep forum informed... That's it.. Hopefully everyone is having a better start to their weekend than me....

Sorry to hear, electrical problems can be a nightmare. I had a car with them before and I hope I never have to deal with that again

Go to the repair subforum. Some people have had this issue or a similar one. I think it was an issue with a taillight wiring harness that caused it

Check your fuses?
Someone else posted a problem that turned out to be a loose fuse.
While searching for a CAGS (skip-shift) fuse I noticed all of the fuses were at different heights, with some only pushed in 1/2 way & NONE fully seated in both the under-hood & trunk bays. Had no electrical issues but still wouldn't hurt to fully seat all fuses. |

I wouldn't follow the advice of anybody in these forums or attempt to figure it out yourself unless you have a really solid grasp of how electronics work and how to test for shorts or a bad contact to ground. Just let the dealership figure it out. These things suck and take hours or days to isolate sometimes. Electronics failure, especially systemic across the entire car, is a nightmare to troubleshoot. At least when an issue is mechanical, it's a little more obvious as to what component is bad.

Yea, good luck with that one. Most dealership mechanics are idiots and only know how to change parts. If that. Also are good at getting oily hand prints all over your car or screwing something else up while it's in the shop. Been there done that. It's very hard to find someone compitent enough to do the job correctly.

I had a really good experience with my dealership. My car would not start intermittently, it kept saying that the fob was not detected. I took it in and they traced the problem down to a faulty ground. The ground wire was broken inside the insulation at the little Eye Hole connector.
I don't need to tell anyone here how hard something like that is to track down. Whiskey |

Well, car worked fine for a week.... and then problems all over again. There is some connection between the Power Steering, Stabilitrak, and the Back Up Camera... because none are working properly. Anyway, Chevy had the car for 3 days, and said it was all fixed... I am not a happy guy right now. Owned the car for a month... and it has been in for 3 different issues... When it goes in this time... That will make 4 trips to the repair shop. I have an old Toyota, and it has been to the shop 4 times in the last 10 years. I am dealing with some family stuff right now, and really did not need this... Thanks Chevy.

Can't believe no one has said "first year car" yet.

Check the vehicle grounds, a lose ground wire will cause all kinds of problems with the electronics.
