Wonder if the cars with the seat covers pulling out could post build months, wondering if Chevy made any running changes.

I purchased my 16 2SS in February. I have the black leather interior. I just hit 1,200 miles on it today driving the vehicle to storage for Winter. It saddened me to do it. Got to love the Pennsylvania Winters!!! I am a bigger guy, a little over 6ft 3in and weigh 290lbs. I have not noticed any tearing or pulling of the seat in that area. I will say I am always aware getting into the seat and try not to just fall down into it. I was made aware of this issue on the forum, so I always tried to proceed with caution getting in and out of the vehicle. My dad thinks I'm crazy because I always bring it up when other people get in and out of my car. He thinks if the seats are that delicate they are junk. It's nice to know Chevrolet is fixing them if the issues exists. I hope not to be so lucky. I plan on driving the car much more next year, so we will see what happens.

Took my car in for same seat issue.. don't think dealer is going to fix it. May need help. Who can I call?, can I go to a different dealership? Anyone in Northern California/Bay Area has this covered by dealership... Please let me know.

Not in your area, but dealer replaced both fronts under warranty after just a quick look.

Yea, doesn't sound like dealer considers this a warranty issue. Isn't my warranty that came with the new car from GM.. and not from the local shop? I am really done with GM/my dealership.. had the car for 11 months.. car has been in the shop for different issues for a total of about 20-25 days. Still have other problems they can't fix.

There was a used '16 1SS that showed up on a lot so went to check it out. It had the seat problem with less than 10k miles.

I think, as already mentioned, the factory seat covers are cut too short and not installed with enough retention clips. It's either that or the way the install the seat covers at the OEM. Either way, your service center can fix it by installing a new seat cover with extra clips.
My guys did the same with adding the 1 retention clip, that did not work and looked bad too.

Same issue here on my V6. Dealer ordered a whole new seat cover for it. Note: you have to pull up the seat back cover to get to 2 clips that hold the headrest on. My tech found this out after going animal on mine and breaking it. 7 days later, a part from Michigan, and my new sealant job shot I got my car back. Seat looks great... yeeeaaaaaa

How good was the replaced seat? I've just had my back done and it's quite lose. I was told it will tighten up over time but not completely sure on that one. Looks like I have to go back anyway as they scratched up some trim taking the seat out which they are replacing. Just keen to know how close to factory people's seat cover replacement came out?
