I got a little inside scoop on the new track in Atlanta, in the upcoming months there will be a open track day just for us CAMARO'S...I will keep you posted as more info rolls in.

I'd like to get as many people as possible. once I can secure a date/time etc, I'm going to start spreading the word around town. It will be a Camaro5.com event, but all are welcome to participate and join the fun.

I've bumped the schedule against Road ATL, Darlington, Valdosta and a few other tracks and the available weekends are looking to be

Oct 7-8
Oct 14-15
Nov 11-12
and possibly at the latest Dec 9-10

*edit* Just got word from my local clubs, attendance is climbing!!!!

Actually, that was one of the things that was brought up with my last discussion with Michelin. during their last Corvette track day, they brought out their truck with all sorts of tires on it and sold them at a heavily discounted price and installed, balanced, and mounted them all on the spot at the track. and IIRC, they just released a new 20" tire that will fit the Camaro. I'm definately going to try and get them to do the same for us.

Awesome news CamaroSpike23 and I'm in. I also prefer the later date because I have more good news. As long we have been trying to get road course time and two events are finally coming together. We also have our Camaro Day at VIR! Working on final details with an anoouncement coming soon but the date will be end of Sept. This is also different because we only have the south course and will cap attendance. One day (weekday) event with instructors. Day will start with classroom instruction then instructor in your car with you to relate to track. Will then have 3-4 groups based on driving skills. Your group will run then get some time debrief with instructors and relax before your group goes again. We will have photographers and are planning to spend a little time on parade laps so those who do not "run" their car can get on the track and get some pictures.

I hope these are not viewed as competitive events. I've personally wanted to get track time for 2 years now and am excited for both. Look for an announcement from me here on Camaro5 as soon as we pick the date (we are on the schedule from sept 27th, 28th or 29th) and find out how many open spots are available after our club members sign up.
