no competition here. we/I am looking at late october/november for the LPG event. we arent planning on having a full instruction type of event. I am planning on having their instructors present and giving instructions, but in order to keep the admission price low, we can't do the full class room setup. but there will be ample track time for everyone to get their fill considering we are looking at using their road course, and long course and possibly their wet handling course as well. still trying to work the details out. Right now, I'm waiting for the event planner for Michelin to finalize the invoices so that I can start announcing the official date. I've been spreading the word on a few other sites (mostly local car sites) and things are looking good for attendance if I could just get Michelin to answer my calls...lol

Just got off the phone with Michelin. We definately have the road course on lock down. The wet handling course is looking good, but it drives the price up obviously. They are working their schedule to ensure that we can have something set in stone this fall.
Potential dates: Oct 8-10 Oct 14-16 Nov 11-13 Dec 9-11 I asked about how involved they wanted to be with this as it would be a great PR move for them to be more involved with the local motorsports community, and they said they'd love to, but they'd bill by the hour for their time... :banghead: so that part might be out. I may be able to convince one or two of them to stop by during the event and offer "tips and tricks", but thats all for later down the road. They are drafting up the rental agreement now and will be emailing it to me later this week. Right now, I need you guys to spread the word to anyone and everyone so I can get a good tally of how many people will be coming out. Cus the more people we can get to attend, the lower the price will be.

Oct 7-9 is Pony Wars at SGMP.
Other than that weekend, count me in for any of the 3 other dates.

Hmmm, Spike, I can see by your calendar that you need to be going to not only Pony Wars, but LSX Fest as well. Plus, don't you know motorcycles are...dangerous?!?!

LSX Fest is in September and thats only 2 months from now (less than that really). These things dont happen overnight, and I'm not even sure if this will happen this year or not. I'm fighting to get it in, but we may have to hold off. Plus I need to get some outside "help" with a few things for this. still need to plan out the cruise route, visit the track, find $1mil insurance for the event, and some more things... plus I've got reserve weekends every month and I dont have the 2012 schedule yet, so these "available" weekends may be nullified already.

list updated.
Should be getting the final invoice tomorrow. They already have some great contacts for food and drinks. Nov 11-13 seems to be the best date so far. Working on getting sponsors for the event as well.
