Moving to 8000 feet
This winter I will be in Avon, Colorado and have several cars including 2 Camaros. I think that it might be time to sell the chevy's 2010 rs/Ss mm6 abm with sunroof leather 37k on it.
Do you think it's stupid to ake it there for the winter? I am definitely selling my 02 rare b4c from Dale Earnhardt blk/blk leather 6 speed 1 of 6 built camaro@lbernstein.com But te main question is would it be stupid to have the 2010 in the mountains for winter? I am in houston and this car has seen 0 days below freezing !

Dude, this is all personal preference. IMO, I wouldn't want to put a car like this on snow, ice, salt, or sand. Therefore, in the winter, I would never drive it. Instead, store it in the garage in the winter and drive a beater. If your wondering if the altitude will affect your car...then yes. Oxygen deprivation. lol.

I have had it and the 2002 there and they feel anemic but still strong ! One vote for worthless in the snow, I have a rav4 for my daily driver
More opinions ?

Lots of folks drive their Camaros in thr snow with no problems as long as you get snow tires. They even do well on very steep hills. That said, I still would not be inclined to take mine to the mountains in the winter. If it had to be your daily driver, it might not be that practical but if you have an SUV to drive on the worst showy days it would be a blast to drive in the mountains.

Apparently you've never driven one on snowy, icy roads

Snow and winter aside, being at 8000 ft is gonna be a huge performance hit. I would get a winter car (love my Jeep) and just drive the car when it's nice.

You can keep them for summer...but as the others said, you're going to want a more practical winter vehicle. I was stationed in Utah (5200 ft) with my first Camaro SS (back in 98-01) and enjoyed the SS 8 months out of the year...otherwise a Toyota 4Runner 4x4 is a fantastic investment. Oh yeah...and the altitude SUCKS. At 8k feet you're looking at an easy 70hp loss (if not more). For me, moving from Utah to MD (sea-level) cut .70 off my 1/4 time and gave me almost 8mph trap speed with zero changes to the car.

Look at the bright side. You won't need premium fuel and Colorado doesn't use salt!

Selling it appears to be the best plan
Well
I hate to see them sit for months and I want a ZL in the future anyway! So I guess I will sell my 2010 ABM and My 2002 1 of 6 B4C cars I just can't use em in Colorado To others I have had them both in the mountains and both are a gas on those roads! Pics to follow .....

He'll still need premium fuel. It's just that we only have 91 octane here.

Camaro for the summer, something else in the winter....something with some ground clearance and 4-wheel drive.
