Car will not start

Had lunch at a local restaurant, the car started fine when we left the parking lot but after about a 1/4 mile the car started jerking like it wanted to shut off so i pulled over to the shoulder turned it off but when i tried to restart it there was no response lights came on but the engine wouldn't turn over. The gauge cluster would not do a normal cycle until after the key was turned not before. I have an ls3 manual 6 with cold air intake modification. My question is has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone know if that modification will void my warranty. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Did you keep your stock intake?? if you did just put it back temporarily and take to the dealer so they wont have any excuse to void your warranty.

WTH!! is wrong w/ the 2011 camaros?? they seem to have alot of problems!!

Thanks for the quick response GEEo, but unfortunately the car was towed to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine so removing the intake is not in the picture. I'm so bummed right now...

Sorry to hear about this problem!

Please keep us posted on the dealers response to the CAI. We need to know the dealers and GM's position for future reference.

I've had my car in for warranty work with a super charger installed. I sure wouldnt think you would be in danger with a cai.

I saw that there were some questions on GM's stance on modifications. I hope this helps to answer that question.

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover any damage or failure resulting from modification, alteration or suspected tampering, to the vehicle's original equipment as manufactured or assembled by General Motors.

Any changes to the GM Powertrain, Fuel, or Emission Systems that involve modifications, conversions, or the addition of non-GM approved products will void the GM Powertrain Limited. GM will not be responsible for costs associated with the repair of these vehicles due to failure of the aftermarket installed components or failures of related vehicle systems induced by these non-GM approved products.

Further more, if determined appropriate, the GM Field Representative can proceed with voiding certain portions of the vehicle’s warranty.

PINGNINO, what you may ask the service department at the dealership is their stance on modifications. They may be willing to cover the vehicle even with the modification on the vehicle. I hope that helps you.
