Music City Camaro Club's Annual Fall Brawl Drag race & Car Show event 2013

It was a gloriously perfect day for drag racing & a car show. We had a good turnout with 21 cars participating. Some of our sponsors were no-shows which was a dissappointment (what's up with that?). The weather was perfect; nice & warm (mid 70's) at mid day but not oppressive and nice & cool (low 60's-high 50's) but not uncomfortably cold in the evening. We had beautiful trophys done by the personal business lazor etching business of one of our club members (Dr Love). Everyone's cars looked and ran great (well save a few not shifting as well as they would hope) and no one broke any major parts! We are most proud of Tim (yotaman) whose awesome ride won first place in drag racing (and did not break any parts)! Congrats!

Drag racing! First video: Ruby gets a By in the first round. It was not my best time of the night but it did not need to be.
Just listen to that Borla exhaust! I have been hoping to get a nice solo run to get a WOT clip of my car.

SSlayer takes another SS victim! Here is video evidence of round 2 elimination run of Ruby Vs LS3 SS. LS3 SS you are now another notch in my belt! Okay it was by breakout, but it was still a great run for both of us. And...........a win is a win. All in good fun; and that it was.

And then Ruby is eliminated in the 3rd round by jeffswhiteSS who still can pride himself in saying that the SSlayer has not beated him...................................YET! Again guys & gals, all in good fun. It is even fun getting beaten on the drag strip.

Unfortunately, in hte shuffle of transferring the camers from my hysband to me, we missed getting pisc of some of the awards so I'm counting on other club mambers to get those covered for me.

Drag racing 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards:

herein are the best stories of the day. First Tim who has one of the most bad azz builds in the club is infamous for having his car leave drag race events on a flatbed often without even completing a single run down the track, having broken major components trying. This time the car & Tim were able to show what they were really capable of doing. Then there is "the kid". This particular night at Music City Raceway, there was also a competetion featuring a group of local high school kids. One of them was driving a 5th generation black convertable Camaro. He came over to check out our event with one of his buddies & asked if he could run with us too. We said sure. He had to hussle running back & forth between lining up to run in both groups for a while. He ended up being elimated from the HS group at some point by breaking out. But hung in there with us until the final run for 1st & 2nd place. He lost that last run to Tim by red lighting and taking 2nd place. Probably Tim would have taken him anyway, but it was still a good race & a great story.

Lastly the great friendly rivalry between club President Jeff (Black Beauty) & one of our founding members Jeff (jeffswhiteSS) affectonately known in the club as black Jeff & White Jeff (no racial intent at all as it is in reference to the colors of the cars obviously). They are both always in the final rounds of the Spring & Fall club drag race events every year. They ran each other in the final round to decide 3rd place.
