Alignment issue ???

I hit an icy patch while going around a corner at about 15-20 mph, I had the wheel cranked all the way to the left and then it hit. BANG !! The tire is not flat, but the steering wheel shakes bad at 40 mph, violently above that. Suspension or just alignment ?? The components looked in good shape, bent rim? I just got new rear tires, good thing, if the back end had come around I know for a fact it wouldve been a lot worse...

Could be a bent rim or suspension component. I'd say rim with the way the wheel shakes. Get it checked out

I don't think warranty would cover a bent rim and/or suspension. They might say you hit something. Which I'm guessing you did by the sounds of it.

If you were not 5 hours from me, I would fix it for free. I have a lift which is a life saver. If you don't have a buddy with one, put it on stands and figure out what you bent. Use spray paint before you take it apart so that you can put it back together pretty close to aligned before you take it in for alignment. The car is almost new, so nothing should be hard to get apart.

Good luck!

1100, I have a $500 deductible for warranty which will cover it. What is up with Infiniti's Stability Control ??? I had it on the whole time INTENTIONALLY so this would not have happened, like in my old 06 Acura RL where it intervened and saved me in a similar situation. In this video you can see a Chrysler 300 goes around a wet corner in the same way I did(though mine was just a 90 degree left turn), and the stability control intervened and prevented the car from crashing. WHY DIDNT MINE DO THIS ?!?! I also was able to kick the tail out and then it swung around the other way almost spinning out before Stability Control Kicked in earlier that day, if its this bad in the wet how in the HELL can it be any good in the snow ?? I love my Infiniti, dont get me wrong, but this is ridiculous....

Need new control arms/tie rods, etc... it's a chrome wheel so may need to replace it, dont think its bent very much because it's like a super high strength alloy ??

I'm sorry and that stinks. Just teasing you a bit, but wasn't there a time when we could not blame a computer for crashing.......?

Well I had it on so this would not happen, if it wasnt on I would blame myself haha... I was going around the corner slower than I was the previous corner yet somehow still had ALOT less grip, I was getting a feel for the road then that happened. I thought the whole point of stability control was to prevent this, it certainly did in my old 06 Acura RL... But it I was going slightly uphill on the left hand turn, it was banked in the exact opposite of what I needed it to be, the stability didn't cut in though(it had when the rear slipped when I was getting on the on ramp to the highway, whatever)...

If you get in a bind and can make it this far, I'll fix it for you.

The parts are the expensive part, not the labor. Thanks though...
