Personally, I would offer $1500. I would then mention how it does have rust, how it does need a lot of work, and time is money. The highest I would go is $2500. If he wants more, let him sit on it.

If that car is all steel and original drivetrain, he'll get 5K within 30 minutes of advertising it.

For me, if a trim tag has been off a car, I won't buy it. It would have to have a GREAT reason and well documented...

I was gonna say just that!! Yeah sure here's a body tag, but for what car!! No more than $2500 and a lot of patience on your end..I don't care if its in canada or Florida. My dad and I never could agree which was better GM or Mopar, but I was usually driving mine because parts were less expensive and in every bone yard. He had many Chargers over the years and I know first hand sir, that car needs a TON of work, and patience, time and money don't grow on trees these days.

If the so called vacuum leaks are such an "easy fix" why docent the owner fix them and potentially get more for the car since it would run better?
Easy fix=BS Also,I would have zero faith in a tag that has been removed and supposable goes to that car. I'm not into Mopars at all,but I would be very leery if I were a buyer.

For some reason the old Dodge/Mopar stuff seems to bring more money than say a comparable Ford or Chevy product... I've been watching for a long time for a Challenger, or Charger project I could actually afford, and they are rediculously priced... It looks like a pretty solid car from the pictures... IF you could get it for $3k you'd be doing pretty good IMO, but might as well start at $1500. You can always go up, but you can't come back down. I suspect the guy may want 4-6k or more from what I've seen Mopar projects go for, but maybe not and he's hoping you'll throw out a stupid number.
I wouldn't say the trim tag being off the car is a huge deal, I believe on the Chargers the trim tag is just held on with phillips head screws, not riveted on like Chevy stuff. A lot of the same info from the trim tag will be in the vin... Make sure as much as possible matched between the vin number decode and the trim tag. And make sure the vin matches the title... If it's got no title, might as well just walk away now. |

looking at the condition $6000 would be the max i think it would be. But if he keeps saying thats not a reasonable then start looking somewhere else because hes just gonna try to get as much money out of you as possible no point in paying alot for the car if yea cant afford to get the parts to fix it. For all the money in getting parts for it you may be better off saving and getting one thats already somewhat altogether and just needs some patching up if hes gonna try to make yea pay over 10,000 for it.

yea everyone i talk to is saying its worth around 6 grand i'm going to wait a week and offer him 5 grand if he doesn't accept i'll start looking somewhere else.
This would be a lot easier if he just told me what he wanted for it |
