Question about production dates - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Are the Camaros being produced in the order that the orders are placed, or does it depend on what number your order was at the dealership? I know that's confusing, but I don't know how to reword it.

For example:

A lot of you are like the 20th person to order a Camaro at your dealership, and you ordered in October or something like that. I ordered the 13th of April, but I was only the 2nd custom made Camaro ordered at my dealership, and only the 4th on order. They have one base v6 camaro coming, one black SS coming, and two orders. So, will my Camaro be produced before the 20th person at a different dealership, or will theirs be produced first because they ordered earlier?

sorry if this is confusing, or a stupid question. I'm just curious as to when I could expect my Camaro to be rolling in...

Frow what I am thinking and or hearing, the pre-ordered Camaros will be built first, and by pre-order I am talking about orders that were placed before the March 15th pre-order deadline. The pre-ordered cars will be built in order that each dealer received the pre-order unless there was a restriction on the order, like color or whatever. I am not positve on this, but that is my understanding.

It actually has to do with the dealership allocation #s, and not the order each pre-order was actually received.

I believe allocation is based on previous sales figures and the # of Mustangs in the area.

that was a looooot of information. I believe, if i understood correctly, that the first come first serve thing is out the door, and I may actually get my car before those that preordered and are #50 of like 60. Possible?
