I've been looking at B&M coolers with a thermal fan that kicks on at 175℉. It is 10" x 10" so fitment will be an issue, but I might put it on the passenger side behind the fog light. Take the fog light bezel and cut out the recessed areas to make it an air scoop. My transmission is hitting over 250℉ waiting in the staging lanes, need something.

Again, with the help of specialfx I've been looking at this one myself:

http://www.tickperformance.com/b-m-r...-npt-fittings/

Along with these braided lines that should fit right into the OEM fittings.

https://bowlertransmissions.com/p/53...on-cooler-line

Good info on our transmissions here:
http://etereman.com/blog/general-motors-automatic/how-to-protect-your-6l45-transmission

Correct Size female to AN fitting for cooler lines:
Dorman 800-605 Automatic Transmission Line Connector

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EPYHVO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You’ll also need one of these to remove the lines, you’ll have to cut it down in the back as it is too long for our curved lines:
OTC 7937 Transmission Oil Cooler Line Disconnect Tool for GM

Were you looking at the Medium Hi Tek cooler?

Yes I was, need something that can keep itself cool in the staging lanes. When my transmission temps are down it feels like the car has more power, at the track though they never go below 240 ℉.

Beside mounting location another issue is how do we add transmission fluid once we add this cooler to the system?

Warm the transmission up to a little over 100℉ and while it is running put oil into the fill hole till it starts leaking out a little. Car has to be in the air and level.

Just bought this:
B&M 70298 Hi-Tek SuperCooler Oil Cooler with Fan

Will get it this weekend, so I will see where I can place it. There might be room in front of the radiator for it with the intercooler, but will have to see.

Nice. That's one hell of a trans cooler setup!

Hope so, the lines and fittings cost an extra $140. Using stainless steel -6 AN lines. Also going to upgrade my meth lines to AN stainless steel, make it look nice.

Looks like a way better setup than the Caprice for the price, even if you figure in the additional $$ spent for the fittings, etc. I'm all for factory fitting stuff, but $500-600 for a trans cooler? No... Way...
