New gears installed today - WOW
Just had some 3.91 gears thrown in my L99 Camaro and they are amazing! Car feels 1,000 lbs lighter and much more powerful. If you do not have gears, I highly recommend you get them. Best mod I have so far. I have Headers, Full 3 inch exhaust, CAI intake, and the gears really made the biggest performance difference besides sound. The gears are quiet too. Thanks to Erik and Josh at Lashway Motor Sports in South Florida. They are the best so give them a call!

I dont race. My car is for the street and it hooks fine. The gears on the street are amazing. Acceleration in every gear is greatly improved

Don't worry about it....just get a centri sc (power is higher up). I have 4.11's w/ a Paxton and it hooks up better then expected (M6 trans)

I doubt a 3.91 gear in an A6 on the street hooks fine! If you nail it with all the nannies off it should blow your tires away!
Might be ok at the track with a set of sticky Mickeys! All of us drag racers wanna know if you can stay out of 5th gear. And if you are still stock converter, most likely you will shift to 5th. Unless you have a triple disc converter. |

How are the revs on the highway compared to the stockers? I'm reeeeealy thinking about getting some 1LE 3.91's.

I has too, my A6 with stock gears will blow the tires off the rims with the nannies off. |

Much different if your goal is 1/4 mile racetrack ET's A stock gear can blow the stock tires away. Maybe no so much with a Mickey Thompson ET street DR! We still want someone to test this theory as to whether or not 3.91's CAN work in a triple disc converter with the stock cam without pushing you into 5th gear or running a 29" tall tire? |
