Do we need to sacrifice another virgin? Or if we can find one should we send her to Michigan?

I'm sure the DI 3.6 will be a good performer but I wouldn't bet on seeing it putting down 290-300 rwhp stock like the (significantly underrated) fourth gen V8 did, even though it has a similar peak hp rating. The difference in torque will be even more pronounced.

I'm pretty sure the 3.9 is a front drive motor only. I believe the 3.6 is the only rear drive v6 in the GM inventory.

Just for giggles, I checked Holden's website. The base and mid level engines on the Commodore are both 3.6's. I'd give you the hp ratings, but they measure them in kW and I don't know how to convert yet...

So does anyone else think Scott's mention of engine changes has something to do with the recent CAFE compromise?

Maybe, maybe not...it could be about a recent "advancement" in technology. (cough) DI (cough). Completely wishful thinking to say the least. However - DO keep in mind what the Fbodfather has said.

Chances are - what we thought we knew...we don't. Things like 3.9. things like LS3... just kidding - I haven't got a clue.

Good.

I just remind myself, "take a deep breath", and to be patient.

At this point, I'm just looking at the calendar and reminding myself that in a little over a years time, I'll finally see my favorite car back from the "abyss".

Engine options, body style, performance options,...those are all "icing on the cake" for me. I'll have a great time deciding how to build my next Camaro.

Dragon, I was thinking along the same lines as you.

DI.

If the technology is there, get them out the door, into the proper plants, and into the Camaros. Why hold back for a second year production run on the bad boys. Get them out now! Give the buying public what they want. After all, they have been waiting 3 years! Make it the DI! please??:p
