Thanks for the info ViperTomCat I didn't know they produced that low of an amount of Challengers a month I thought it was the same as Camaro & Mustang. Does anyone know why they produce such a low amount of Challengers? I'm just curious. As for the new engines of the Challengers I think it will still be a fast car just not fast enough for the new Camaros. The weight is the main reason for this we all know Dodge has good engines the car is just too big plain and simple. I also dont expect Chevrolet to leave the SS with the 426 hp for next year I bet they will bump it up so it can better compete with the 5.0 Mustang and we already know how the Z/28 & the Convertible Camaros are going to own the Stang next year after looking how they are testing them. I expect next year 2012 to be the year of Camaro again just like 2009 when it was first released. We have Transformers 3 coming out next year plus convertibles and Z/28'S and maybe updates to v6 & SS.

You are making a big assumption that Ford will not do anything to the GT500.

my bets are on that ford will leave the 2012 gt500 alone; and wait for what the z28 brings.

at least i hope, i just bought a 2011 gt500 a few weeks ago.

Is the 5.0 in the Mustang GT a direct-inject?

My biggest fear is that the z28 would use a DI v8 and not be supercharged.

Imagine if you would have bought a 2010 GT500.

I think what ford was doing with the 2011 was getting the handling dialed in, in anticipation of the Z/28. The power part is where Ford is at the wait and see phase.

The demand is still high enough on Camaros, I did not think there would be any incentives on 2010 models, so I went ahead and ordered a 2011! Got it a couple of weeks ago.

The handling is was a must needed improvement on the GT500. I would hate to be one of those who bought the 2010 GT500 a few months back when they were really dealing on them.

you can get a handling package at the dealer. I think it is actually better than the SVT package, but I might be wrong on that one. The SVT package is just now an option from the factory. I am sure the SVT package will become standard in the next year or two.

If it is anywhere between 450 and 500 HP..the SRT8 will be just as fast, if not a bit faster, than the SS.
At what price point? It is already way more than the SS. Wouldn't the Z28 be a better car to compare it to?
