The 5th generation is a classic design so evolving it for the next generation just makes sense. Some may claim it's a safe play by GM, which it is, but I feel it's the right decision.

Sure but only if this "6th Gen" doesn't stay in production for more than 6 or 7 years. I'm not sure how long GM thinks it can milk this body style

Just for the record they haven't made one that I haven't loved the looks of so I'm sure I will like the sixth gen, just don't want it to be a fifth gen rehash. A lot of the members on this site never really heard of the Camaro before the fifth generation so I can see their attachment. I understand yalls side of it because of how successful the fifth gen styling has been, with much more lasting appeal than previous generations.
I agree with every bit of this

This may very well be what I end up doing. I have never owned a Mustang or a Challenger. If the 6th gen is as underwhelming as it appears (still early) I may end up going this route exactly. Ford has totally stepped up their game with the Mustang in every way. The Challenger looks freaking awesome. Id like to think I'm beyond buying a new Camaro just because its a... Camaro

I could be 15 or 50. What does that have to do with the comment I made? You act like I stepped on some sacred ground with that BMW/Porsche comment.

Ridiculous , I never figured my first comment in this thread would lead to this kind of stupid banter.

Its not that you stepped on any sorta "sacred ground". Its that you actually have the mental capacity to put a Porsche or a BMW in the same sentence as a Camaro.

WOW... just wow!

What do Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Porsche, BMW all have in common?

Its called BRAND with an enthusiastic following! The fact that these vehicles can match and sometimes out perform these other Brands in itself should be enough to put them in the same sentence. This does not diminish the fact that a Porsche or BMW are wonderful cars. Some companies would give there right arm for their "Brand" to have the same recognition as these vehicles do. Is this where we ask how old you are?

Feel free to ask me my age at any point.

I would hope that you realize that both PORSCHE and BMW are made in Germany and focus their consumer base in Europe. Also... just in case you're not aware of this. Both are "luxury" auto companies.. at least in the eyes of Americans. Porsche is regardless of where are you are in the world. There is nothing "luxury" about Camaro. No one in this world that's considering their next purchase of a 911 Porsche to also looking at a brand new Camaro. If so, please send them my way. I'd love to meet this guy.

There are zero parallels with Porsche and Camaro...NONE! Of course their timeless exterior design...is timeless. Do you consider the engineers and or the design team at Camaro to be on the same level as Porsche? Should I remind you about how Camaro went unavailable after 2002? Has BMW or Porsche ever went unavailable due to issues with sales?

Some of you have lost your freaking minds. Take your Camaro loving goggles off...PLEASE

So let me get this straight, because the camaro isn't a luxury vehicle it should not evolve on an already successful design? That's basically what you are saying.

I tell ya what. If you and the others wanna think that "because Porsche and BMW can pull it off why can't Camaro"

Go right ahead...

Theres a reason why Porsche has pulled off the same body style/type since the 70s? Camaro in its wildest dreams could not EVER pull that off

I agree 100%. I'm pretty disappointed. Doesn't look exciting. I find the new 2015 Mustang the same. It looks (specially the front and sides) just like the outgoing 2014 mustang.

Neither one has new blood in them.

It's called reading comprehension. Perhaps you might want to improve yours?

I don't mind that the overall shape of the C6 is similar to the C5. I just hope that they can find something fresh to do to it to make you say WOW, that's cool, I'm going to have to get one.

....... You realize you just did the same thing.......

The Z/28 is being compared to the Porsche by magazines and Porsche owners alike. Porsche is getting it's @ss kicked.

The BMW is..... pretty
