Window Tint Law in Georgia BEWARE!!

Just wanted everyone to be informed about the law here so it is no surprise. No matter where you are registered, you can get a ticket for window tint darker then what Georgia state law dictates allowable. 1st offense is just over 200 dollars around here.

32?? In GA??

Man, what a joke. I hope that not too many other states catch onto that. I drive through 4 states to get to my family and every state has a different tint law.

Yep the tint has to be 31% or lighter. I dont know where he got info on 200 bucks. I have had 3 tickets and all been between $50 and $75. When going through Georgia just pay attention to cops and when you see one roll window down just enough so they can see from around your eyes up. As long as they can kinda see you they wont bother you. My 3 came from not watching for them. Now i ridde with a finger on the window button....

The law states 32% +-3%. it also states fines can be up to $1000.
Don't know how they can possibly enforce the law on a car passing thru with out of state plates that conforms to their own state laws.

I have been to the Fbody Gathering since the G7 never had an issue with my 2001 Z/28 and 5% tint I see no reason why we would have an issue I will have my windows down and sunroof open anyway lots of sunlight

You can't be written a ticket for tinted windows if you are from out of state and have out of state plates on your vehicle. Every state has different tinted window laws. If you get a ticket for the tinted windows contest it with that state for you being out of state.

Yes you can, here in NC, you can be charged under the NC tint law if you are darker than what is allowed in your state.
