Really as long as it beats the GT500 - its all good, and is competetive in price.

Basically...ULTRA Fine-tune the suspension and try to lose some weight through the use of exotic materials, and do to the LS3 what Ford did to the Mustang's V8...intake, headers, aggressive CR and tuning...

Unfortunately, that would probably give us a 480 hp, unnaturally efficient V8-powered super-car for 55-60k.

I wouldn't be ale to buy it...but I'd drool for days on end.

SO...back to the title: "Put XXX engine in the Z28"...I want to see a 5.7L DI, supercharged, VVT, AFM, E85-capable, V8 packing 650hp. So there.

Why does everybody assume that the Z28 will all of a sudden be the top dog?
I do not see why GM is going against it's heritage and mae it the more powerful of the models.

If it were to be a true Z28, it would be a track car, so a similar powr output to the SS, with an upgraded suspension and few options.

I just do not see why so many people are screaming for a 600HP version.... And to be honest how many people will use that 600, or can drive it well enough to use that 600...

I support a true Z28 which would be a track ready version. Just my two cents

wrong thread dude. many other threads with this topic in it. and who defines top dog? for many the Z28 is top dog because it's the best all around car. SS straight line performance. and who says the Z28 can't have more power?
If you bring up the 4th Gens SLP wanted to do the SS. and because the Z28 was already in production the SS was given the higher tier. where as the third gen. . .what SS? The Z28 means more then SS.

I'd be happy with just the LS7 in the Z28.

And pair it with a solid axle with 3.73's.... ooohh baby.

and, as many have said before, any car can be an SS, but only a Camaro can be a Z28

that said, I will get back on track and say:

GM, please put in a 580bhp supercharged LSA variant engine... and put it in the CTS-V coupe, too

I'd have to say make it the LS7 at most. Keeping with the roots of the Z, being a working mans car. If you start putting in the LS9 and lots of fancy stuff it will make it untouchable for the average JOE ...
