You get this problem in your IRS too?

I got a 1987 Corvette with IRS. When I slowly reverse or slowly accelerate below like 10mph I hear a clunk only once from the right side it seems. Can somebody help, I'd rather not just go redoing everything in the rear end.

What axles are you running? I've heard of quite a few cars with a very similar issue.

you know the C4 uses a U-joint axle and i have seen from time to time the strap that holds the u-joint cap stretch out and make a noise like this. take a look at the ends of the u-joint caps that are held down with the straps. if the strap s stretched the outer edge will look like its been freshly polished, if its not moving it will look like the rest of the cup end.
