Saw a new Taurus yesterday it got me thinking again

I think FORD has a winner with this one. It has me thinking about selling the camaro and moving into a SHO. The styling is perfect on this car from the outside. It looks GREAT! Interior is a definate winner as well. Now to do some reasearch and thinking ..

And the fact that the SHO is $49 995 CDN... F that! You can get a well equipped CTS for that, and actually HAVE something! But the SHO is pretty good looking on the outside.

The SHO is a well put together vehicle. I was quite surprise by its power and handling. A great platform to build from, and you can still haul around more than 2 people

I agree. It's a good looking car, got some horses and it's a 4 door sedan.
As much as I LOVE Chevrolet, Ford's got a winner with this one.

If you have to haul more than 2, the Ford Taurus SHO is a better choice, plain and simple.

If I had little kids I would be driving that instead of the Camaro.

It's an ok car but really trading a tradition sports car in for a sedan is crazy. Yeah I understand the performance but man the Sho can't compete in looks and performance I mean really. In the end it will be just another ford, given it doesn't look any different then the regular taraus.

Shit I have a little one and he fits prefectly in the back with plenty space. I got a 300 for family road trips. But to each his own.

Two problems with the CTS, rear seat room is crap and if I want big power I can either go all out and get the V or I'm crap put of luck since the next step down is the DI 3.6L. The difference is huge.

Add four to six inches to the wheelbase and offer the LS3 in it and count me interested, until then they just don't have a combination that works for somebody who wants a fast, comfortable car that can seat four real people and which costs less than 50k.

Hmmm I would say it performs quite well ! The Sho has nice lines for a Sedan. I think Ford did a good job. Though I do say these rims are butt ugly...but they are aftermarket..

This is with a tune I believe.

I agree with what you say but man the dam SHO is 37170 and thats with no options. I would want the premium option and thats 3700 so right there you are at 40870 and thats not including sales tax or the interest on the financing. I'll be damn to ever pay that much for a Taurus, even thought it's redesigned and a lot better then anything they have built, for that money I'm getting a MKS which kills this car in every aspect. I just can't jusfity the price tag on this car.

Of course you would, you would have no choice. Th OP said nothing about
little kids. To just move to the SHO for no apparent convenience reason
is just Something tells me Crowley may be pulling a few legs.
Maybe not.

I get the tune and all, but the people who will be buying this car aren't going to be looking to race it. Ford isn't making this car to be in the performance sports car segement. That really defeats the purpose of it, so buying this car as strictly your performance car would be stupid IMO. I mean really how much modding is going to be avaiable for this car given the tech its using. So I still say replacing a sports car for a family car is crazy even if they are giving you performance with it.
