Finally I’m a member of the C5 Club!
After waiting about 5 months (ordered 9/11/2009) I picked up my VR 2SS today. I’m now officially a member of the 5th Gen Club!
I was able to drive an A6 before and but only for about 5 min. This was my first time at the M6 and where I had more time behind the wheel. My first impressions are WOW! Coming from a 200hp Impala to a 426hp V8 this thing can get it and I don’t even have it broke in yet. I am trying to follow the “drive it hard” theory of break in procedure. I can’t imagine what it will be like after it breaks in some, I get a CAI, and a tune! It will definitely get you in trouble in the speeding arena if you don’t watch it. I was up to 85 in a hurry every time I turned around. I still have to get used to it some. It’s just a totally different style of car than the 4-door sedan that I was previously driving…including the slightly rougher ride than I’m not use to just yet. Just step into it a little and all that stuff doesn’t matter anyway. I drove it straight to the Muffler Shop and with only 35 miles on the clock I had them make me basically a Magnaflow Comp Series cat-back system (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64964). Love the sound of it now! I’ll be ordering a Hurst shifter first thing tomorrow. That’s one thing I don’t like….the shifter knob feels weird in my hand. I know others love it but it’s just a personal thing….it’s gotta go for me. I have an appointment scheduled to have white stripes added to it on Friday which should really change the look. I’ll post more pics of that when it’s done. Anyway….just putting out a quick post to say – I’m Official Now! EDIT: Oh yeah....forgot to mention that I have already got a taste of the celeberty status within a few hours of owning it. I had 3 different cars hold up their camera phones to take pics as we were driving. One made a special effort to get a side shot and a rear shot. BTW: Yes. I know the kids weren’t in car seats. My wife drove them around the block to hear the new exhaust. She literally went around the block and didn’t go over 25 mph. No kids in car seat comments necessary.

She wouldn't have it any other way either. She drove a '95 Cobra for about 3.5yrs every day to work until the kids came. When I say every day...I mean all the way up until the day she had our first kido. She was the one that said it was time for the Impala to go and the sports car to come back....of course we still have the Yukon to take the whole family in.
