The better the performance of a tire, the stickier it gets when heated on track. A Hoosier A6 driven down a public road would media blast the paint off a fender in a couple hundred miles or less. Unless you wrap the entire car, the paint is going to chip. First time down the road in my last project car a falling acorn hit the roof and put a ding in it. Maybe the speed I was driving might have had something to do with it. I have come to accept that the paint work required to keep my performance cars looking new is maintenance and no different than changing oil.
