Borla S-Type or Flowmaster American Thunder for 2SS

Hey guys, I ordered a 2SS LS3 and I'm trying to decide between Borla S-Type and Flowmaster American Thunder cat-back systems. I prefer a loud deep smooth sound, I have listen to both exhaust sound and video clips but just can't decide. So I was wondering if you guys could give me some advise. Thanks!

I have the Borla as well and really like them. They do have some drone as others have mentioned. But it's not bad. I did have the chance to hear the Flowmaster on a SS and they sounded good as well. I do like the fit and finish of the Borla better.

Best Bang for the buck is the Flowmaster, but Best sounding is the Borla ATAK.

One of my Friends that has a 2010 SS just put the Borla Sport cat back on his and it sounds great. Not to loud and has a very refined sound to it. His SS is just a bit louder then my stock 2004 Corvette. It not to loud but much better then stock..

PS: I would stay away from the Borla ATAK.. I think is sound like a farm truck coming down the road. JMHO.. Maybe I just getting old.

It was a manual.. My buddy took me out in it and drove around with the windows up and down and no radio then listen to it driving by the house.
It has a great refined sound and not to much cabin noise at all.

It is the system I will get for mine.. BUT.. from all the comments I have read here I will buy a programmer and shut off the FMS before I put the Borlas on.. I think that goes for any aftermarket exhaust on a L99 from what I have read.. Problem is my SS only has 117 miles on it and I want to make sure I don't have any drivetrain issues before I kill the warranty. So I think I will wait a while before I install a catback system

I have watched these exhaust threads closely. It seems if you can afford to spend the money for a little better sound you go with Borla.

I have the Borla S-Type and am extremely happy with it. I have never heard the Flowmasters so I cannot compare the two.
In the end,I would buy this system again.
