Is it just me?

Is it just me, or does it seem like the ZL1 and 45th camaros rims come from similar cuts?

ZL1:

45th:

I'm not trying to say the ZL1 rims look too much like the 45th, it's just when I first saw it I was like "wait what?" because I though it was the same rim from a distance. Upon further inspection they seem to be from a similar machining process.

(on a side note, the ZL1 rims look easier to clean, not fair GM... )

Yeah idk what the rim size is on the ZL1 but the 45th is 20in. My guess is the ZL1 is 22 or so? I'm sure you guys know that.

They are completely different rims yet they are 5 spoke. If you look at it from a manufacturing standpoint there are no features in comon other than the spoke count.

If you look at it from your my mom perspective then they are the same and HD tv looks the same as SD.

Hahahaha, good use of an analogy there.

also I am not positive but most likely the 45th are a cast wheel. the ZL1 are a forged wheel.

Forged wheels are stronger per cross section due to the way the grain in the metal comes out so you end up with a ligher wheel.

Forging is working the metal into a die under extreme heat and pressure. Cast metal is pouring molten metal into the casting. This is why forged wheels are always more money. More tooling cost to setup and big harder to process.

When I break one of my rims I'll let you know, haha. I remember seeing the difference on powerblock TV between forged and cast. Hard to believe some drag radials are cast. I'm sure there's not many anymore though.

Not even close to the same thing.

I have two pair of pants that are exactly the same except for the one pair is red with stripes and they are shorts.
