Issue with new Vinyl Stripes
Just had my old rally stripes removed and installed new ones I got online from a Camaro5 vendor. When I picked up the car at the shop I didn't see anything wrong, but after going home and getting a closer inspection I saw this:
At first I thought maybe it was grease, but cleaning it with detail spray did nothing. My question is: Is this a defect in the vinyl prior to installation, or a mistake during installation? Under daylight it's very hard to see, and I didn't see it until I got home under the garage light. Basically, I need to know who's to blame, so I can get it rectified.

IDK....but I would start with the installer. You would have to assume that the vinyl is okay since the issue is only in one spot. You might contact the vendor as well just to see what he says.

I had what I call three "tiger stripes" in my matte left black stripe the dealer put on the new car. Had them replaced. Thing is they had to inspect several kits to get a good set from the wherehouse. Seems that if these sit on the shelf awhile and the top adhesive gets stuck more over time, or they get folded at all creases and mars can form. In my case just discoloration in the printing of the vinyl. I had a minor one on my old car but being silver wasnt real noticable, and those were done at the factory. I would go to the shop and just ask what that is and see waht they say, or if they cop to a installation error. If not you bought from another source so dont know how that will pan out.

I had similar "stain marks" on my black stripes right after they installed them. Mine actually ran around ther perimeter of the stripes. I took the car back to the installer and he used a polish that took the marks right out.

Think something like Nu Finish would do the trick?

did the installer put it on wet or dry? I have seen guys use heat guns to do dry installs and create a bit of a shiny spot if the overheat the vinyl.
