I would think that GM would jump all over the wording of the ad..... It's probably nothing!

Smells like an attempt to go viral into our forum and boost clothing sales at this non-GM web site. Did it work? Did anyone here order anything off that site?

As for GM getting uppity over the wording of the add ... its false information in the internet, I'm sure they'll treat it as such.

This is what you call marketing, even if the product it's representing doesn't exist.
THEY'RE DOING NOTHING BUT PROMOTING THEIR OWN BUSINESS.

Aftermarket parts are probably a big reason the haven't made a z28. Most guys who would buy one already have the ss model and probably have it up to where the z28 would be. We haven't even gotten the zl1 yet so...........

All it does is confirm that a Camaro in Z28 trim exists.
Says NOTHING about a 2012.

Not that I know of. There was some sort of agreement between SLP and GM regarding the SS moniker for the 4th gens, and SLP owns the ZL name, but Z28? I've never heard of SLP owning it other than a couple people saying that they think SLP might own it.
Think of it this way: a mere 10 years ago, GM was still building Z28s. Less than 5 years after they stopped, they were working on a new Camaro. That would have been the only window for SLP to snatch up the name, which is pretty narrow. Meanwhile, its my understanding that they never even fully acquired the ZL1 name, they just trademarked the "ZL" and threw a number in afterward (550, 600, 1 ... etc). GM had been letting that one sit around for 40 years, so I don't think they'd let Z28 go after 4.
