Small problem
I had my windshield replaced today(came with a scratch on passengers side)also had a few minor scratches buffed out. I'm drying it off after washing it when I got home and I'm using my master blaster on the rims and all the sudden my horn goes off and just keeps blaring. I try the panic button, lock, unlock won't go off, start it up and it goes off. I figure it was just a glitch but I open the hood, trunk, doors to dry the insides and it goes off again this time it won't go off. I rip apart the trunk to unhook the battery(didn't think about pulling the fuse). After I pull the fuse and replace it and rehook the battery it still won't go off. called onstar and have them do a diagnostic, the don't show any problem and hand me over to customer service. She asked me if they're were any dash lights on and I said yes when I turn the key on and not start it the engine light is on but when I start it there is no warning lights on. She said I have to get it to the dealer ASAP. After this long story my question is. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any feedback. PS I Still love this car though my the rest on my block might not.

GM has had several "QC issues" that haven't leaked out to the general public....maybe this is one of them!

find the horn, and be prepared to just unplug it next time. I agree there are a few QC issues that GM does not want to get out in fear for the newspaper headlines "new camaro plagued with QC issues" not a big deal, our rear bumper is not aligned right, caused the paint to "Tear" --too tight plastic bumper against metal--so it needs fixed.

Did the car then break all the windows of other cars around it and transform into a robot?

This is the car locate feature, not panic. Hold the panic button down longer and you'll get a different response.

I think this is more than a small problem. I was getting on the highway on July 31 at 5:10 pm when my horn blared until the fuse blew. Of course, it's Friday after 5 and no service center is available to look at it. That said, I replace the fuse and tap the horn. After a couple seconds, the fuse blows again. I notice that the low pitch horn is not sounding, though. I take it to the dealer on the following Tuesday and suggest the low pitch horn is bad. They search the wiring and see that I have the beginnings of a Viper alarm wiring harness installed and immediately pass the buck off on that. Only problem is that the Viper 3902 alarm isn't completely developed and there isn't even an active control module attached to my vehicle, therefore no current draw or interference. The harness had also been there for over a month without any issue. Upon further inspection (and me prodding with them), the dealer finds that the low pitch horn is shorting out...hmm rocket science. Next further problem, there is no horn available to replace my defective one. I have been waiting 6 weeks now with no answer when there will be a horn available. I welcome all comments or suggestions. |
