I usually buy my Chive gear (so far just two shirts and lanyards) from eBay.

Usually for only $10 mark up and not having to deal with hitting refresh at the exact time shirts go on sale for them to be sold out lol.

The stuff on ebay is often times not authentic. So, really, you're contributing to someone's greedy wallet that "made" the stuff using a site like zazzle or cafepress for a fraction of what they're charging you...

So... can someone help me understand the appeal in paying for stuff with a company's logo on it, whose business is posting pictures on a website?

I'm confused.

Send a message via AIM to Dirtdog
They have huge parties as well, where all the Chivers in the area meet up at a location. Theres also a lot of traditions and funny stuff involved, buisness cards to hit on girls, "Paying it Forward" where you leave someone cash with a promise that they have to pay it forward and KCCO. Its kinda a cult following.

Besides who doesnt like looking at funny pictures and smoking hot girls?

I'm with you...a buddy excitedly showed me the site a few months...just kept telling me how amazing and incredible it was...I visited it once or twice, and waited for the "punchline" or the reveal or whatever it is that was supposed to blow me away. Just never really got it??

But then again...I don't get twitter and instagram either? LOL

I dont think its just about the business they are in..its more the type of lifestyle they promote...nothing extraordinary about the site...but they donate to charities and most people that participate have the relaxed/ carefree lifestyle in enjoying life ...i dont think many people get it just by visiting the website...but go to a gathering and hang out with some chivers and youll see everyones cool and like a family..even if youre meeting for the first time....

Its like camaro5...lol

I'm right with you on that.

I wasn't trying to be negative, I'm seriously trying to understand the Chive craze. I even downloaded the Chive App in an attempt, but I still don't get it. Don't get me wrong! Pages of pics of girls is a great thing, but I'm just not making the link of that that would inspire me to buy their stuff.

Maybe if they put a U.S. Flag on it instead of the Royal Crown...

Don't feel bad. There's nothing to "get". It's just a website. It only becomes "a lifestyle" when you have no actual life and need to feel part of something.

Yup, kind of like buying a Camaro and joining Camaro5

Go poke around Chive Charities for a little while and get a better understanding
