I'd like to see a z/28 as top dog when the next gen engines come out.
a 5.7 DI VVT somewhere in the 400 horsepower range with even better suspension than the FE3 setup would be perfect.
And if it could lose a few pounds then great, but I don't know how realistic that would be.

Maybe they will throw a monkey wrench into things and call it the ZL-1

Keep in mind that the 69 Z/28 had that small 302 motor. Also, you could only get the Z/28 in a 4-speed transmission, and it could not come with AC. Remember, the Z/28 was only developed to race in the Trans Am race (I think that was it) which had the displacement limit of I think 305 CID.

When I think think muscle cars, I think higher displacement cars. Like, the Yenko Camaro, the Chevelle SS 454, the Cobra Jet Mustang, and Mopar's Hemi and 440. The SS had bigger displacement, (with the 396 and the 350), and thus I must vote SS.

I'm sorry. But this horse has been flogged to death way too many times on here.

Frankly, I just don't give a rat's patoot!

Z or SS , like others have said "it is all good."

Let's enjoy what is coming down the pike. Hope that this all works out and that due to our support and word of mouth, there will some day be sixth Generation of our beloved Camaro.

Not sure trim level is the term to use in this poll

Yes it was the Trans Am... and developed to compete with the Mustang ,
Absolutely...SS = bigblock and HP ....Z28 small block performance & handling

I also remember that the SS cars were the ones with raw power and the Z had better handling. I also sort of remember that GM had another "Z" car a Z/24 that was more entry level a Cavalier not a Camaro, donʻt remember if it had a bigger displacement but the "Z" moniker as the SS was not just for the Camaro.

There is no other logical choice now than to offer whatever 3SS would be as a Z28.

Plain and simple.

They could still offer a Z/28 which focused more on performance and less on "the fluff". Most Z/28's in the 1st gens were very basic - it was all about performance.

If they did offer the car, I would want them to only allow you to select 2 things - the exterior and interior colors. Everything else is selected for you. You want nicey-nicey? Get a 2SS.
