Dodged a bullet on the 4th...

I was in Alabama last weekend and bought some fireworks to bring back home. We annually have our neighbors and friends over for swimming, cooking & eating followed by fireworks in the neighborhood. Everything went great...OOOHs and AAAHHHs all over the place and big smiles from all the kids watching. After it was all said and done I bagged up the fireworks to wash them down prior to throwing away. While on my way to the hose the finale fireworks decided to start GOING OFF IN THE BAG!!! I immediately dropped them and caught some nice burns on my leg and ran to the hose! Unfortunately I had my car out of the garage as we were indulging in some beverages in there and this is what happened...

I looked over the car today and found this...and smaller ones all over the right side of the car!

Quickly I grabbed my car wash equipment and took to washing...it wasn't COMING OFF!!!

WIFEY TO THE RESCUE!

She told me that her dad showed her a trick using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser that may get it out since it appeared only on the top of the clearcoat and hadn't burned through... IT WORKED!

After an hour of meticulous inspection of scrubbing away little burns on the side of the car, she was all clean...CRISIS AVERTED! THANK GOD!

Lesson learned for next year...take the hose out to the fireworks and hose down first, then move! STILL A GREAT FOURTH OF JULY!

That sucks had a similar issue. Launching the parachute army men fireworks for my son. On the very last one the cardboard and explosive charge shell shot out of the air right at my truck. Hear a thud go look and this is what I see

Son ova

Pulled out the M105 and after a few rounds it took it right out. No dents either. Truck quickly went into the garage

Children should not use fireworks without adult supervision.

Glad y'all were able to clean up the damage.

It's all fun and games until somebody's car gets hurt!
Glad it came out.

Luckily the car turned out okay, but more importantly, what about the leg burns?

Glad it all worked out, but on a side note, you have a cool picture of your car with fireworks going off
