Dude don't be afraid to ask! That's what people are here for
I have notices that the RS tail lights actually have a darker tint than the non-RS tail lights and have seen others verifying it too.

is that the only difference is a darker tint in the housing?

The RS is an appearance package for the Camaro. The key differences are:

1) HID projector headlights with halos
2) body color roof ditch molding
3) 20" midnight silver wheels
4) darker tinted tail lights (though I think all Camaros came with them after 2012)
5) spoiler (I think they became standard on all models after 2012 also)
5) RS badge in the grille and rear (unless you have an SS in which your SS emblems will be red instead of white)
6) and ambient lighting across the door panels

This minus ambient lighting. 2014 MY included LED tail lights.

Note that the early-year, RS lamps were not tinted. The inner housings were just black instead of chrome as on the non-RS.

Here is a side by side comparison, the black bezels will also make them look darker.
