Anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong in this, but if you add NPP to a non factory NPP car the valves would just be open all the time right?

The connectors are not on the car (as far as I know, although it's possible they are tucked way up into the wiring harness), the software can't be configured to control it, and the exhaust will always operate in "open" mode.

Unless...

You add your own actuators and wire up your own control circuit to close the valves when you want them closed.

I don't need the trans cooler or diff cooler. I don't track and my spirited driving will be limited to short bursts. I might wind it up on a empty 2 lane road up northern mich.

More than likely the valves will flutter with the exhaust pulses and rattle like crazy.

Curious why you think that might happen. The valves are spring-loaded to "fail open", so I wouldn't expect them to rattle around.

You can't, or if you do, it will be open all the time, just buy a non-NPP system and you'll save a few bucks too

You can wire up your own circuit to control the actuators, but that can have additional cost as well...

Last I checked, springs move under loads. Like bumps or exhaust valve pulses.....

I can follow the logic, but the valves are open. I would think there's more chance of "odd behavior" but not having actuators installed. And if the actuators -are- installed, then the fluttering you're suspecting would seemingly be zero.

Did you have them epoxied as per the TSB?

The problem you encountered, from what I understand, was on originally installed NPP systems. Correct? And wasn't it addressed by a change to the valves in newer versions of the exhaust?

Same here. Only on cold start. Remedied with a Borla NPP axleback.
