It is not the angle or the light. The metallic pieces in the paint are smaller on the bumper than on the rest of my car.

No, I wouldn't accept that as normal at all, I am dealing with heavy orange peel myself. They are going to wet sand the clear and if it can't correct it they are going to repaint and clear! I can't believe it....

Yes, they hear everything thanks to the prior administration's warrantless wiretapping. But that's OK unless you have something to hide, right?!?

Please, no politics!

I second Ranger 75's comment. The metal flake in the paint used on the plastic components is finer grained than that used in the paint for the metal body pieces - hence the reflecting & refracting properties of the two paints is different.

That said, everyone who sees my IBM car for the first time can't believe it's stock paint and not a custom job. Sometimes the colors match & sometimes they don't - it truly does depend on the time of day & lighting conditions with this color.

Frankly, my dears, I don't give a damn. I'm not perfect so I don't expect my car to be either :-)

I was MAJOR worried about this while waiting for our RJT to arrive. In the end, it was nothing to worry about at all. About 1/2 of the pictures of our car appear to be mismatched, but it absolutely is NOT. It's definately the lighting (in our case).

This might be old, but it is still a problem. I have an 2011 IBM and the bumper doesn't match the rest of the car

I work as a painter for a well known Chevy dealership. I've worked on every color camaro available. seen hundereds on the lot. And while there will alway's be a slight difference in color between bumpers and metal parts. mainly due to to fact that paint reacts on the two materials differently. When you can see a SUCH a difffence even in photo's I can just imagin what it must look like in person. I've never seen a new car come from chevy looking like that. I'd bet the the bumper was damaged and a shop did a re-paint. You'd be supprised how many "brand new" cars get damaged and repaired before they are even sold. Have your dealer fix it. If they have a shop request you look at a spray out before the bumper is painted. I've painted this color numorus times and tends to be a little dark but is easily adjusted.

My new 1984 Camaro had the same problem. They're trying correct this asap. Check back in another 25 years.

I have a 2010 summit white, this color has no metal flake. Since i got it the 2 bumpers never match the body, bumper are off white, more like egg white.
Now, last november i got my rear bumper replace because of some minor damage and the new one matches perfectly!
the front bumper is horrible, can I expect GM to paint under warranty?
