At what point did your A6 become fun?

Please, this isn't intended to be a flame war, nor is it intended to insult our fellow auto owners; I just found that after a couple years of ownership, I've gotten a little bored with my baby. The zl1 is a truly fantastic car that does almost everything well... but for me, it's almost too relaxed doing what others would struggle to do. I got a kick out of it one day recently when I decided to take an exit ramp at 60 mph to see just how well it would stick. Not only did it stick, but midway through the turn, the computer sensed that I was driving aggressively and downshifted 2 gears so that I would be in the appropriate gear for max acceleration at the bottom of the turn...It was! It took off like a rocket and I had this big sh#t eating grin on my face.

Though that time was fun, others have been less involving. Yeah, it's quick, but I need more. I'm wondering if perhaps a serious hp infusion would be enough to keep that permanent smile on my face.

Does anyone else here share my views? What did it take for you to be happy with your a6?

I came from a 2013 manual ZL1 (liked it a lot, had 75rwhp package on it )traded it for my 13' auto ZL1. I love love the auto. I liked it a lot stock and once I added my 125rwhp JRE package I lovvveee it. With the tune this car has and the aggressive shifts and sound I find this to be the most enjoyable car to date for me. I've had upwards to 20 manual muscle cars too, so thats saying something. I also enjoy using the paddles as well.
On another note I'm just totally over shifting. Probably never go back with how good these manuals are now a days. Already eye balling that 8 speed auto stingray for a future purchase....
But to answer your question it was fun for me from the start.

Headers and no cats gave me a big smile. Next year, pulleys and injectors will keep that smile going.

Take your auto to the track and stretch her legs a bit. I would go crazy if I never was able to use the full potential of this car due to street driving only.

Like Toby said HP mods my help as well.

Around 650 is where the power to weight becomes fun.

Try a road course. I have an SS manual but I have a good amount of experience on the track with various vehicles. Even with an underpowered car (my old crx with exhaust) a road course is a blast.

It's an insane feeling coming out of a corner and getting on the gas hard in a high powered car. Being right on the edge of traction and spinning out. Then getting on the brakes at the last second to make the next turn. You can't drive it like that on the street but at the track you can do it all day.

I have a lot of fun on the street with my camaro and my zx10r but it's nowhere near as much fun as I have with those at the track. I have less hp than you with my camaro but it's amazing how much fun it is to run it on the track. Best money I've ever spent on vehicles.

Yea... over 600 at the wheels and life got good again. I've had damn near everything, but only Corvette C5 Z06 got my blood going at or near stock because after you mode everything, you get de-sensitized to speed.

C6 Z06 bored me so much I wanted to get the test driver over with. I was just figuring out the mods on the way back to the dealership.
