I noticed the same thing with my Colorado PU for several winters. I imagine, but I have no summer experince to match it to yet, that the Camaro will do the same.

It seems to be a matter of the engine taking longer to warm up in the cold weather and that keeps the computer feeding a richer mixture for a longer period of time. It seems to be most noticable if most of your trips are only a few miles at a time and in stop and go driving.

Mythbusters proved that AC usage does not relate to mpg. They tested on a closed track, with cruise control, same car, 5 gallons each.

lol well that's true and it isn't. What they 'proved' was that it was more efficient to drive with the AC on instead of with your windows down. There are still a lot of assumptions as there are still a few elements that weren't controlled in that test.

Can driving with the AC on affect your mileage in a negative way? Yes. Does it always, no.

I think both of these members hit the nail on the head. I know in the winter my fuel economy in my truck drops about 2mpg. It's just the way it goes when you live in an area that gets colder temperatures.

Considering gasoline is still stable enough to ignite at temperatures of -97*F, I doubt that freezing or even gelling is even remotely an issue. Not saying they don't use additives in the winter that aren't in gas in the summer, but I doubt its to prevent freezing.

All true along with the gas blends. My trips were short also, 8 miles each way so that doesnt help either.

If your not getting enough smiles per mile, maybe you need forced induction. Won't help the MPG though haha

Why? because you are assuming we can't afford gas for our SS like you can't seem to afford gas for your V6? No biggie.
