Does a 2014 SS really understeer?
Maybe. However I felt the stock wheels and tire sizes were not adequate for a 3800 lb car a bit nose heavy. Having tracked Vipers and corvettes in the Michelin Challange Series(2000-2006) my new SS felt BIG! Anyway I changed the wheels and tires(TSW Nurburbing 9's & 10's with Invo 255/45/20 & 275/40/20). Invo,s for all season. Can't get the car to push
on available roads/turns! Maybe on a track in a decreasing radius turn. I done 90 deg turns(trail brake entry/power at apex) no push exiting. So what am I missing. I will be taking the car as is to Spring Mountain(Pahrump Nv.) early next year to see what the car can do. However we all know the driver can make a car appear to push or get loose! I had a major push issue in my 2010 until I bought another set of rear rims and put nitto 275 555's on them and put them on the front. Now it's holding in the corners by the tires instead of braking until I get enough traction to apply throttle. I can now steer by the gas pedal instead of going slower and hitting the brakes until the front caught up on traction. I guess it just depends on how fast you take corners.

2012 and up SS's have FE4 suspension.
A significant handling improvement vs the '10's and 11's. Congrats on your new 2014! |
