LS3 with 3.70 gears input?

I'm still gathering up the money for gears but I'm researching so that when I'm ready I'll know what I want.

I'm looking for some input for those that have and LS3 and added 3.70 gears. I'm still thinking that for a daily driver and only occassional track use the 3.70 might be a better choice than 4.11 gears.

I heard they are even putting 3.70 in the ZL1.

If you added 3.70 gears can you give any feedback about how they feel? Did you feel the difference going from the 3.45 to 3.70? Do you ever feel like you might want a little more gear? If you had it to do again would you have gone with 4.11 gears?

I'm looking into this range of gears as well. Anyone with the LS3 and 3.73 gears that can comment on shift points, cruising/highway RPM, mileage, etc.? I know I'm not looking for the 4.11s cuz I'm not building a 1/4 mile car. but i do like to play around!!!

I'm also interested in anybody's experiences with this setup. Considering 4.11 or 3.73 right now.

I put 3:70's (9 inch) in mine back in August ish (long story) and finally got the car back in December (early). Put only a few hundred on it since then, but the difference is quite noticeable. Much faster from the start. A little tricky accelerating with PZeros that are cold but part of that is the horsepower increase. Cruising at 70 is about 1900 rpm. Overall I like the change, let you know more in March after first track visit.

Well from my experience, the 3.70 is not enough. I started with the 4.33 (one of the first guys to run them) and I thought they were perfect. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to replace them with a set of the LPE 3.70's. They feel ok, but my combo and driving habits would like more gear down low with my cammed motor. Not a time goes by that I don't want the higher gear. I am now saving for a 9" setup and it will have 4.30's in it for sure.

going from a 3.45 to a 3.70 is barely anything, and hardly justifies spending that kind of dough.

I have already ordered my 4.11s for my LS3. Still just under 2000rpm at 70mph from what I have heard.

4.10s are very streetible gears they are highway friendly and my gas mialage didnt change at all, its a heavy car the 4.10s help a lot and at 70 its less lug to maintain speed, if i could do it again id go 4.33s , the 4.10s are a little tricky to launch hard but well worth it.

The ZL-1 is supposed to come with 3:70 gears. The new Mustang 5.0 has them as well. Just to compare speeds on my 3.70 gears. Use these speeds to compare to your M6 factory 3:45 gears.

2,000 rpm 4th gear = 45 mph
2,000 rpm 5th gear = 55 mph
2,000 rpm 6th gear = 68 mph

Not a huge change but very nice on the street plus it makes 5th and 6th more practicle on the freeway. My car will not be on the drag strip.

Care to share why you changed them?

4.33s are on the way for the m6

engine hits the limiter @ 62mph in 1st with stock gears
