exhaust

i was just wondering if anyone has purchased and recieved the actual exhaust that gm has created for the camaro. im thinking about purchasing but dont want to spend the grand for it if it doesnt do much for the sound. i also was wondering if anyone had any problems with straight pipes or other exhausts. like affecting horsepower or performance not to mention the warranty thanks

I think I'm going to go with the Borla S cat back and possibly ... possibly exhaust cutouts for when I really wanna play.

My last car had a serious exhaust and headers and sometimes it was a bit too loud.... like picking a kid up from school or having the neighbors scowl at me when I come home from work.

just picked my ss up from stainless works in cleveland got the long tubes (1 7/8's, with the full exhaust, high flow cats and the chambered mufflers) they did a fantastic job and it sounds great too... I'm told that there will be some video clip on you tube later tonight or tomorrow and they may put it on this site as well by they're video tech. guy.

Is there a certain time frame when you should do exhaust modifications? I want to put on a SLP LMII axle-back when my car arrives but have been told by a dealer and a mechanic I know to wait until 500-1000 miles before I make any modifications.

They also told me not to drive it to hard for the first 1000 miles or so. Does this sound normal or correct to anyone? I have never used kit gloves with any of my other vehicles but I have never made any modifications to my cars either and don;t know muhc about it.

Thanks for the help.
