Ahhh, I'm not worried then. If the reporter is saying expect it to vanish, that's like them saying the world is coming to an end. I will wait for GM to announce this is possible.

It's a possibility sure, but I'm keeping the faith.

There is no end date in sight it's one year at a time right now.

Don't worry to far ahead with the way things are. Nothing is set in stone.

Even if it's electric or hydrogen Camaro will live on long after we are all dead and buried.

Someone will be driving a 2400 Camaro with hyperdrive and a mr fusion.

When the hail storm comes the shields go up from your built in flux capacitor.

Damn, I hope so! I want one in the worst way but I can't do it till next year. If they are gone by then, that would be downright cruel!!

But this day and age, any friggin thing is possible I guess.

I have to believe that by the end of Summer supply will meet demand and Camaro's will be sitting on car lots. Not saying the lots will be flooded but I think they will be in stock.
Anyone agree or disagree?

i read that article too when it came out. no worries. that's reporters opinion and nothing else. with the car in such demand, camaro will be around for a long time. do you think GM is stupid to cancel a car so hot and that people want to buy? no way.
they will surely look for better mpg.

GM failed to retain the Oldsmobile Alero as a Chevrolet when they canned the entire division in 2002, despite the fact that they were selling like hotcakes in the post 9/11 economy. I thought that was a big mistake....

I read a local article while on vacation in San Francisco in April, that was also one columnist's opinion, which stated that the Camaro would be the "death nail" of GM, that it symbolized everything that is wrong with GM. He went on to make the SS car out to be a sin, that it was even being produced....

I totally disagree with that. I believe history repeats itself. I believe GM needs to look to its past, and design and build cars based on two main goals:

1) build cars people want to own
2) build cars people will buy

In other words: Make them desirable and affordable! That's the Camaro!!

This is the same stuff we all heard back in 1979 when the saying was "The TA, the last American Muscle car/Big block to be built again" came out and look what happened! No I don't think the Camaro is going away, cars might go to lesser HP, many V6's and probably a hybrid but won't go away soon, because the more popular a car is... it stays. Now with all the HP enthusiasts out there, Muscle won't go away either because even if the Gov. regulates what the auto industry puts out, there are way to many of us to find a way to have that muscle!

I am on the edge of my seat just worried about the next few weeks. If GM files chapter 11, they may have to shut down like Chrysler to get the bankruptcy judge to appropriate money. I expect the Camaro plant to be back online quickly as it is selling now so they need to keep the gears turning. Hopefully someone somewhere will realize this car is pretty much GMs bread, butter and gravy right now and they need to keep pumping them out. I hear all the OT, third shift, Saturday talk but that means squat if they are forced to shut down.

Don't hate on me, I just want my car. The dealer said 12 weeks with the summer shut down. How long will bankruptcy add??? I know others have waited way longer but I am concerned that 12 weeks will turn into... well... never. I can do 12 weeks or 16 or 20 no problem, just get me my car sometime before they are cancelled!
