Didn't read every single response, but just a tip, at least for all the military members, whom there seem to be quite a few of here in SoCal, if at all possible, just keep your car registered out of state, at a home of record at an address that you can still use. I did that, for the most part, my entire time in the military. Living in Cali, but still utilizing a WA home of record for my registration. It's like 65 bucks or something for my registration.

fee's were supposed to go down in CA with this new budget. I find it amazing since counties had money taken from them in our latest budget that they will assess their own fee's now. We re-called Governor Gray Davis for TALKING about raising DMV fee's but nothing was done when Arnold tripled them. This new budget CA has is going to see so many cuts by cities/counties it will make your head spin when you see it.

I was at beach Friday 3 miles between newport and Balboa piers great beach 3 life guard stations only for about 50,000 people. Call the paramedics 800.00 bill...Fire stations being closed...Police agencies laying off officers... Teachers being layed off...Schools closing ...businesses going to 4 day work weeks ...paying 4cents each for paper bags at the grocery store now cause plastic bags and styrofoam outlawed.

Should I go on? I payed my 550.00 in December for my 2010 camaro and 725.00 in September for my Crew Cab Silverado PU Truck...Oh and F..in GAS!

Wow! 725.00 for the Pick-up truck? Despite living in CA for so long, I'm completely ignorant as to why the registration fees are so exborinantly high here. That's just plain ridiculous.

Glad I got the 90 day extension.

Mine was due on the 8th, but the budget issues got me an extension. Haven't seen what the new rate is yet. I know my wife's 2010 Jeep Wrangler was $408 just because it fell under the last rate hike

Anyone got the Post July rates yet?
