Well, 11 months in and it seems my luck of staying under the radar has run out. To this point, I'd only gotten one ticket for failure to move over for law enforcement...which I got dropped. Alas, fate changed for me. Over the span of 4 days I've received not 1 but 2 tickets.

The first, speeding, go figure. 50 in a 35...thought it was a 45, but I'll admit I deserved it. The second, today, for illegal tint

. Can't complain though, I knew the risk and for 11 months my car had that steath look I loved. Good news is I can get the tint dropped if I get it removed in 72 hours.

Why should any of you care? Meh, no reason I guess, just thought I could use a little company in my misery. Carry on.

11 months is pretty good with a tint ticket.. i would be happy with that.. i really dont mine getting a ticket once every year.. my car is also backed out with black rims and 5% limo tints all around.. i need to get some pics up

I'd love to tint the sides but don't want the negative attention from the po-po.

Mind if I ask how much the ticket was? I'm just curious what a tint ticket would run ya assuming you decided to keep it on.

It's $164 here. I got it from a state trooper, so that's the state of Alabama's fine. Local police varry. I've heard of one guy being fined for each of his 5 windows and racking up a $450 ticket. But yea, $150+ is the norm I think.

its like 180-200 here for the two windows, but what i do is just pay 60 buck to have them put on and off

they are out there 'watchin!"..car's a target!..ya gotta be careful!..get a "beeper",,it ain't perfect,and ya still have to watch your as*,but at least ya got a 'fightin' chance!..sorry to hear of your troubles!..soldier on!

This is exactly what I did today, but I went ahead and got 35% on the sides instead of the 15% I have on the rest. It still looks good and now I won't need to worry. I'm pleased, ticket is signed and dropped.

I'm going to see if I can get a script for tinted windows once I get a new vehicle. The only problem that's going to arise is getting pulled over a lot.

Cop scanners are stupid. Dont waste money on those...spend on mods. If you just pay attention 9/10 you can prevent tickets. Tint, well just get legal tint in your state and nothing to worry about. Why do you think they made tint illegal to be too dark? Now it just looks like your hiding something so they can legally profile you to pull you over and see if theres any drugs/guns/booze in sight. I personally dont want to give them a reason to pull me over, and if they do it better be for something I actually did, or I will get them written up. Just be legal, and dont try and be a homeboy. Your not famous/slinging dope, or a copper...why you trying to be limo'ed out?

Because it looks good? And because not everyone is from the Dirty South, where tints mean your trying to hide something. One of the major reasons they made it illegal is because it can be considered a safety hazard while driving at night. Not saying that using tints as a profiling tool isn't going to happen by any cop, but mostly for safety reasons.

And a radar detector, such as a V1 is worth its weight in gold, and for anyone who says it isn't and says they can catch any cop just by paying attention has never had one. Thing has saved me countless times, far ahead of the time that I would have noticed a cop even being in sight, and I pay attention for 5-0 any time I drive.

Why? Florida doesn't care about tint. I had 2% on a standout vehical for 5 years with no tickets
